Signpostr is a site aimed at anyone not in secure employment - particularly those leaving education into the current job market.
It offers three things:
- a space to talk honestly about the realities of looking for work at a difficult time;
- a user-generated resource directory, where people can share information about resources useful for finding work or living cheaply;
- and a tool for organising and developing your own projects.
The site has been developed by Dougald Hine and Colin Tate, part of the team behind School of Everything (winner of the education categories in last year's New Statesman New Media Awards and UK Catalyst Awards, and official Honoree in the 2009 Webby Awards).
It came out of a series of online conversations about how social media could respond to the recession.
